Book Club

Book Club and Discussion Group

We're partnering with our comrades at Gather Good Charlotte to read & discuss Ten Myths About Israel by Ilan Pappe!

Registration Required

Acclaimed historian Ilan Pappé meticulously deconstructs widely held beliefs that have shaped the narrative around Israel and Palestine for decades. By systematically tackling these myths, Pappé invites readers to challenge their assumptions and reconsider the complex and often contentious history of the region. This book is not just an academic exercise; it is a provocative call to confront uncomfortable truths and seek a more nuanced understanding of an enduring conflict. Engaging and rigorously researched, "Ten Myths About Israel" promises to be an eye-opening journey that will leave you questioning what you thought you knew and eager to explore the intricate realities behind one of the world's most enduring disputes.

How It Works:
We will meet on Saturday, June 21st, from 2:00–4:00 PM at SouthPark Regional Library (or virtually) for a comprehensive discussion of the book. Please ensure you have read the entire book in preparation for our conversation.

Be sure to Register to confirm your seat- we have limited spots! Registration (link)

We would love for you to join us in community, ritual, meal-sharing, and a commitment to the liberation of all people, from here to Palestine and beyond.

Sign up to bring something to share on our signup genius (link).

Open House

We invite you to join us for an Open House, where you’ll have the opportunity to meet members of our group and learn about the work we’ve been doing over the past year.

As the right continues to gain power, it’s more important than ever that the Jewish community stands in solidarity with all oppressed peoples. Now is the time to take action for the safety and well-being of all. If you’ve been searching for a political home for Jews on the left during this perilous moment, if you’ve been wanting a Jewish community with justice at the center, or if you’ve been looking to turn your rage and gief into meaningful, strategic action—this is the place for you.
